About the role:

This is a full-time permanent position (70 hours per fortnight) located in Dubbo NSW. $99,741 starting base annual salary, plus super, plus access to salary packaging options.

About the opportunity:

Uniting is currently seeking a Coordinator to lead our Aboriginal Families Together & Communities for Children programs. As the coordinator, you will lead and manage the coordination of the Aboriginal Families Together (AFT) project and the Communities for Children Program in Dubbo. This leadership role within the Early Intervention team involves day-to-day program management, staff supervision, and ensuring program performance meet’s Uniting’s standards and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the AFT and Communities for Children programs to meet funding, ethical, and professional standards.
  • Provide support, supervision and leadership to team members.
  • Engage with community and families to co-design programs that improve the lives and futures of Aboriginal families.
  • Develop pro-social parenting skills with Aboriginal fathers and fathers of Aboriginal children.
  • Work on reducing family and domestic violence and improving parenting outcomes.
  • Maintain high standards of conduct and performance in line with Uniting’s values.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with Uniting’s policies and WHS guidelines.
  • Actively engage in community development and networking opportunities.
  • Provide monthly data reports and ensure all required program data is recorded and reported accurately.

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • This is an identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. All applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage. Aboriginality is a genuine qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination ACT 1977
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences or related area.
  • A minimum 3 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with families, staff and the community.
  • Knowledge of child protection issues and the ability to address them effectively.
  • Demonstrated understanding of early intervention principles.
  • Proven computer skills and experience with data management systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and hold a current driver’s license.
  • Current NSW WWCC
  • Experience in staff supervision, mentoring and support.
