Assistant Business Analyst - Financial Reporting

We're seeking a part-time contract Assistant Financial Business Analyst to support our dynamic team within Uniting Mental Health space to work 38 hours a fortnight.

About the Role

  • Part-time contract for 12 months (38 hours per fortnight) based in North Parramatta
  • 2 to 3 days per week from 9am to 5pm
  • Work from home flexibility
  • $70k per year (pro rata) plus salary packaging $18,550 plus 11.5% Super

The Assistant Business Analyst role is for someone with a passion for data, detail, and driving better outcomes through financial insight.

You'll play a key role in:

  • Supporting month-end processes and quarterly financial reporting
  • Preparing accurate grant acquittal statements and budget forecasts
  • Building stakeholder relationships and providing timely financial data
  • Contributing to audit schedules, revenue recognition, and cost allocations
  • Coordinating meetings, documentation, and tracking deliverables

What you need to succeed:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree qualifications in Accounting or relevant discipline

Experience:

  • 1 year of experience in financial or data analysis or equivalent
  • Proficient in financial tools and advanced Excel (pivot tables, data summarisation)
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Experience in accounts receivable and invoicing processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Able to present data clearly to stakeholders
  • Great time management and task prioritisation
  • A proactive mindset and a willingness to learn
  • Strong communication skills and a sharp eye for detail

Even better:

  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar finance systems
