About the Role

This permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week) is based in Dubbo, with outreach to Wellington and Narromine.

As a Therapeutic Caseworker, you’ll deliver comprehensive assessments and intensive case management using the Wraparound service model. Your efforts will support children, youth, and families at risk within the child protection system, ensuring compliance and maintaining high-quality documentation to achieve positive outcomes.

About you in the role

  • Implement casework services grounded in the principles of the Wraparound Model.
  • Assess the needs of children and adolescents, considering development, parenting capacity, and family environment.
  • Produce clear, concise reports based on thorough analysis.
  • Collaborate with partner organisations to deliver comprehensive case plans.
  • Conduct safety and risk assessments

About You

You’re a compassionate professional with:

  • Cultural competence and an understanding of First Nations history and protocols are essential. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
  • Tertiary qualification at diploma level or above in Social Work, Psychology or relevant discipline with casework experience with children, adolescents and families.
  • Experience engaging families with complex needs, utilising various intervention strategies.
  • A deep understanding of child protection issues and competency-based risk assessments.
  • Strong advocacy skills for children, young people, and families.
  • Excellent decision-making abilities, prioritising children’s best interests.
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently.
  • Meticulous record-keeping skills.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a valid driver’s license, with a willingness to transport clients as needed.
