About the role  

headspace Early Psychosis is a program run by Uniting which focuses on supporting young people who are at risk of developing a first episode of psychosis, or those that are currently experiencing an early psychosis.

• Full Time  - Permanent position
• HPA Level 2 - Commensurate with experience + Salary Packaging

As a Clinician in the Continuing Care team, you will provide holistic and wrap-around support to young people who have experienced their first episode of psychosis. You will be allocated individual young people to offer long-term care, helping them access necessary medical, psychological, and social supports.

As part of the headspace Early Psychosis program, you will receive extensive training and professional development to learn the early psychosis model and therapeutic interventions. You'll work within a shared care model, meaning that while you are allocated a specific caseload, there is a collaborative approach across the team to ensure that every young person receives comprehensive support on their recovery journey.

About you in the role

• Provide ongoing clinical care to young people, with a focus on early prevention and reducing the duration of untreated psychosis.
• Work with young people to establish and support their recovery goals, addressing both symptom relief and stress management associated with early psychosis.
• Manage co-occurring issues, such as substance misuse, by supporting young people through tailored planning and interventions.
• Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks using the "Master Care" EMR system.
• Participate in weekly clinical review meetings, monthly business meetings, and bi-monthly whole-team gatherings.
• Engage in regular clinical supervision opportunities, including both in group settings and through direct supervision with the Senior staff.

About headspace Early Psychosis  

headspace Early Psychosis is a youth mental health service offering free and confidential support to young people and their families who are experiencing an early episode of psychosis or are at risk of developing psychosis. Our goal is to provide timely, effective, and person-centred care to support early recovery and improve long-term outcomes.

About You  

To be successful in this role, you will have:  

• Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and provisional or full registration with AHPRA or an appropriate professional body.  
• Experience in youth mental health or early psychosis (highly desirable).  
• Flexibility to work on-site at headspace in Penrith, with some capacity for remote work and also work in the community.
• NSW valid Driver’s Licence
• A passion for providing person-centred, recovery-focused care to young people.
