About the Opportunity

St John's Child Care (Neutral Bay) is a not-for-profit Long Day Care Centre, providing Quality Care and Education to birth-6-year old’s. The centre caters for up to 44 children, and is easily accessible by public transport via Military Road. Operating hours are from 7am-6pm.

As an active team member, you will be required to support the service in the provision of high-quality care and education for children.

This is a part time permanent position!

What you’ll be doing in this role

As a Cook, you will be planning nutritious, well presented and appropriate meals and snacks for children (0-5years) whilst adhering to food handling and hygiene practices. You will be responsible for ensuring various dietary requirements and allergies are accounted for. You will also be responsible for stock control and ordering.

Who we’re looking for

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (essential)
  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or Children's Services (Desirable but not required)
  • Preferred Experience in meal preparation for the Early Child Care setting.
  • Flexibility required for all areas (E.g. Menu adjustments and work hours)
  • A team-player attitude, with the ability to work effectively with staff and management
  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
