About the Role
As the HR Immigration Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our HR Services team by efficiently managing visa coordination and ensuring compliance with immigration regulations. You will provide expert guidance on immigration matters, facilitate visa applications, and contribute to our workforce planning strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer expert technical advice on immigration issues, including visa options and eligibility criteria.
- Manage the end-to-end visa application process, from eligibility assessments to submission to the Department of Home Affairs.
- Coordinate Labour Market Testing as required in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide timely advice to both business and employees, managing expectations effectively.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including managers, HR business partners, and recruitment teams.
- Maintain accurate records of visa applications and enquiries, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Implement and manage processes to retain employees working on visas, contributing to workforce planning initiatives.
- Work within tight deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities effectively.
- Establish an efficient in-house system for managing visa-related tasks.
About You
- Bachelor's qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Registered Migration Agent (MARA) with a valid registration number.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in immigration or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organised, systematic, and thorough, with a keen eye for accuracy.
- Ability to operate autonomously and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in navigating complex organisations and building relationships across different levels.
- Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of Australian immigration legislation.
- Knowledge of current employment legislation and HR organisational policies and practices.
- Experience working effectively with stakeholders at various levels is desirable.
