About the Opportunity

This is a permanent part-time role (28 hours per week, Tuesday – Friday), based at our Parramatta Counselling and Mediation centre.

As the first point of contact for individuals and families, you will provide a welcoming, professional, and supportive intake experience while managing administrative processes to ensure the smooth delivery of our services. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective service coordination and responding to client needs with empathy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming referrals, inquiries, and intake appointments for centre programs.
  • Conduct intake interviews over the phone, assessing eligibility and documenting key information.
  • Coordinate intake scheduling and rosters
  • Provide clients with service information, including fees, processes, and available support.
  • Manage interpreting services for clients who require language support.
  • Attend team and intake meetings, contributing to service coordination.
  • Provide general administrative support to the broader team, including maintaining accurate records.
  • Cover reception, handle cash payments, and assist with customer service.
  • Monitor office stock, open and close the office, and uphold WHS responsibilities.
  • Participate in professional and peer supervision as well as ongoing training.

About You

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse clients, including those in crisis or distress.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • A highly motivated and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An understanding of family law, mental health, suicide risk, domestic violence, and child protection concerns.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children, families, and the community.
  • Experience in intake and assessment processes within a community services setting (highly regarded)
