About the role:

This is a full-time contract position until January 2026 located in Macarthur Square. Starting base annual salary of $79,823 to $87,169 negotiable based on experience, plus super, plus access to generous salary packaging options.

About the opportunity:

Uniting is currently seeking a Key Worker to join our team in Macarthur Square. The Key Worker will engage with and support young parents to identify services through a stepped model of care to address their individual needs, including services delivered within the Hybrid Child and Family Hub, and external services such as domestic violence, housing and financial supports. Key Workers will work closely with Child and Family Health Nurses to screen families for health and developmental needs.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of young parents who are experiencing vulnerabilities and require coordinated approach to accessing and engaging services and supports.
  • Deliver services that are built on evidence-based frameworks, approaches and models.
  • Provide a tiered support response to young parents and their children that is based on their needs and includes: information, advice, comprehensive assessment, case planning, service coordination and navigation.
  • Utilise a range of client engagement approaches that are flexible and responsive to need.
  • Provide planning support and structure for the safety of children and young parents.
  • Internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain up to date client records and administration processes.
  • Be available to provide services to children, young people and their families at flexible times and in locations most suitable to their needs.

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Diploma in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services or related with relevant work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with and understanding of the challenges faced by young parents experiencing vulnerabilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally appropriate casework services to First Nations and CALD families.
  • Current NSW Driver’s license and NSW WWCC
