Join our dynamic team in Western Sydney, where we provide essential community-based outreach and recovery-oriented support to individuals aged 16 and over. We work to empower individuals with varying mental health concerns to achieve greater independence and improve their overall quality of life.

About the Opportunity 

The Occupational Therapist focuses on conducting detailed assessments to evaluate consumer’s functional capacity, identifying strengths and support needs. The Occupational Therapist will create tailored reports that support and compliment applications to the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Centrelink benefits, housing and other services.

  • Full-time opportunity with Max-term for 1 year, possibility of extension up-to June 2026
  • Mon – Fri; 8am to 4pm shift
  • HPA Level 3 (Commensurate with experience) plus salary packaging
  • Office based in Oatlands

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate clients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based reports for NDIS eligibility and other service applications.
  • Provide tailored Occupational Therapy services and contribute to care planning.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and support teams to coordinate and enhance care.
  • Identify local needs and develop responsive programs to promote independence and quality of life.
  • Engage in health promotion, continuous quality improvement, and research activities.

You’ll have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment that values professional growth and innovation. This role involves travel between Uniting sites, client homes, and community locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master or relevant degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification
  • Current AHPRA Registration 
  • Current Australian Driver’s License and access to your own vehicle

Skills and Experience:

We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist with:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in the field.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with others 
  • Ability to organise and conduct health screening and functional assessments 
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and be confident working autonomously when required 
  • Proficiency in using various computer systems and eagerness to learn new tools.
  • A dedication to supporting vulnerable communities and driving social change.
