About the opportunity

This is a permanent full-time opportunity that can be based at the Uniting Family Relationship Centre and Counselling & Mediation Centre at either Fairfield, Campbelltown or Wollongong.

  • travel required across 3 centres
  • Flexibility to WFH 1-2 day/ week

This position is a key leadership role within the Uniting Communities Directorate. The role is focused on the effective operational performance of the Uniting Family Relationship Centre / Counselling and Mediation (FRC/UCM) program across multiple service locations in South Western Sydney and the Illawarra, ensuring that a high-quality program is delivered and that all program specifications and funding requirements are met. 

Effective leadership in this role ensures our programs are culturally appropriate, efficient, outcomes driven, aligned to funding requirements, ethical and professional standards as well as community and stakeholder expectations, and focused on quality practice in service delivery.

It is a priority to deliver this program in collaboration with the Head of, other members of the UCM leadership team, other Communities Directorate Operations Managers, and supported by expertise from shared services functions within Uniting.

Uniting’s FRC/UCM services offer specialist counselling and mediation support for separated families including individuals, couples, children and young people who are experiencing family separation and breakdown. We also offer family and relationship counselling for personal and interpersonal issues.  We are specialists in post-separation support and provide a safe and supportive environment for our clients.

About You in the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Law, or other equivalent and relevant to the field of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage people; develop and maintain motivated, professional and effective multidisciplinary work team/s across multiple sites.
  • Proven financial management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing strategic partnerships, growing new initiatives and achieving common desired outcomes with relevant communities and organisations.
  • Ability to obtain funding and develop, deliver, monitor and evaluate services.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing strategic partnerships, growing new initiatives and achieving common desired outcomes with relevant communities and organisations,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • A current driver’s licence with ability to travel to meet the operational needs of the different sites.
  • Skilled at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence as required.
  • Ensure all operational processes and systems are effective and implemented to deliver high quality program results

  • Extensive experience in Social Welfare and Human Services Sector
  • Family Law experience
  • Bi-lingual or bi-cultural
