About the Role

As the Practice Specialist you’ll be responsible for a focus on practice and leadership for the South West Sydney Family Preservation Services Program (Youth Hope/Stepping Stones).

Key responsibilities include;

  • Develop and implement workplan key deliverables, indicators of success and ensuring timelines are met.
  • Identify individual and collective training needs for all program staff
  • Provide practice supervision and consultation that reinforces implementation of the frameworks and practice manuals (and update where a need is required)
  • Implement and oversee a comprehensive induction program for new staff that includes individual learning and development plans
  • Demonstrate leadership through role modelling practice, sharing practice knowledge and coaching Caseworkers at home visits when required

Our ideal Candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated practice experience providing and/or supervising linking and/or case work with disadvantaged and vulnerable young people, children and families
  • Experience in providing leadership with implementation of theoretically informed/evidence-based practice
  • Strong coaching and engagement skills in professional development
  • Ability to work cross culturally and adapting practice frameworks to respond to cultural needs of young people and families
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection issues/framework
  • Strong writing skills as this role will require you write and review operational manuals
  • Ability to collate and analyse data within structured practice frameworks and processes to achieve timely outcomes for clients
  • Ability to contribute to the development, implementation and improvement of data processes within our programs
