About the Team

The term ‘Advancement’ refers to a strategic, integrated method of managing relationships to increase financial investment, engagement, understanding and support among the Advancement community which includes UTS Advancement staff, donors, alumni, friends, Friends of Distinction (FODs) and UTS staff who are engaged in and support Advancement activity.

The role of the UTS Advancement Unit (AU) is to build philanthropic support for the university’s strategic priorities through sustained and mutually beneficial relationships with individuals, the community, corporates, trusts and foundations. Additionally, the AU is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with over 260,000 alumni of UTS through a program of publications, communications, events and services.

About the Role

The Advancement Unit is currently seeking a Philanthropic Awards Coordinator to join the team, on a full time continuing basis.

The Coordinator will provide a range of high-level administrative support services to support the effective performance of the Philanthropic Awards Program (donor funded scholarships and prizes). This role will also have a portfolio of donors and prospective donors to cultivate and steward in support of scholarships and prizes at UTS.

At HEW 6 level, the role will draw on their experience to provide expert advice on philanthropic services to ensure consistency and adherence to regulatory compliance and to influence decision making through the use of data and trends analysis.

If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and cultivating relationships with prospective donors (up to $25k) and current donors to enhance their contributions.
  • Serving as the point of contact for philanthropic awards, handling requests for scholarship data, liaising with Advancement Services for gift administration, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinating with the Scholarships Office on administrative matters related to philanthropic awards.
  • Assisting with implementing new or improved business processes related to philanthropic awards and donor management.
  • Managing systems for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on awards, ensuring accurate data entry in CRM (RE NXT).
  • Preparing scholarship conditions of award and gift documentation and ensure timely processing of gift receipts and acknowledgments.

At a HEW 6 level, additional responsibilities include:

  • Proactively solicit gifts up to $25k for philanthropic awards.
  • Evaluate and adapt business procedures and systems to promote continual improvement.
  • Work closely with the Philanthropic Awards Manager on comprehensive donor relationship management and ensure donor reporting requirements are met.

Key selection criteria

  2.  Raising philanthropic support in the Higher Education, NGO or NFP sector.
  3. Your interest in the support of students, education and for-purpose activities.

Remuneration & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $80,044 to $100,534 pa (HEW 5/6)
  • This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

  • The position is full time, and appointment will be made on a continuing basis. The HEW Level range appointed will be dependent upon assessing candidates’ skills and experience.
