About Climate-KIC Australia

Climate-KIC Australia operates within ISF at UTS and was established in 2017 to catalyse climate action through systems innovation. Recognising that no single organisation or individual can change systems and solve the climate challenges on their own. Climate-KIC works with a broad network of organisations to develop and deliver collaborative systems innovation activities. We play an orchestrating, convening role, leveraging our collaborative network, bringing systems change intent and agency, working with diverse stakeholders and bringing diverse capabilities in design, facilitation, portfolio and project design and management, engagement, governance, as well as subject matter expertise. The growing team and brand is known for creating and supporting effective, impactful, collaborative projects and programs. Climate-KIC Australia collaborates with EIT Climate-KIC Europe’s largest climate innovation initiative.

About the role

Are you passionate about building communications to support a brand and projects that catalyse climate action through systems innovation?

On behalf of Climate-KIC, the Senior Marketing and Communication Officer will be responsible for:

  • Developing, implementing and evaluating communication and engagement strategies for Climate-KIC’s brand and Climate-KIC’s projects, across a variety of channels.
  • Ensuring a professional and timely service to partners.
  • Managing major communication platforms.
  • Improving communication through nurturing and supporting the communication skills of the teams.

Selection Criteria

  • Very good oral and written communication skills in a variety of formats and technologies, from social media to websites and traditional article writing.
  • Professional liaison, negotiation and diplomacy skills – ability to liaise with senior industry, government, NGO, and research staff.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment in the development, management, and advancement of strategically driven projects.
  • Familiarity with current issues relevant to Australian industry, government policy, and research activity in climate (desirable).
  • Visualisation and design skills in Adobe Suite and the design of templates and reports in Microsoft Suite (especially Word and Powerpoint) (desirable)
  • Degree in communications, marketing or related area and /or relevant experience.

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $102,458 to $113,344 pa (HEW 7).

The level of appointment is dependent upon skills and competencies.

The university offers 17% employer provided superannuation and salary packaging opportunities.

This appointment will be on a 2-year fixed term, full time basis. Applications for part time will also be considered by the selection panel.
