The Human Technology Institute (HTI) is at the forefront of driving the regulatory, governance and technical change needed to grasp the benefits of AI and other digital technologies, while addressing the risks that these technologies can pose to human rights. We measure our success by directly influencing policy, by helping Australian business responsibly adopt digital technologies, and by building new data-driven systems that unlock value for underserved, minority, marginalised and vulnerable communities.
We bring together a team of experts with deep experience in law, policy, procurement, governance, statistics, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. Our cross-disciplinarity and deep connection into the full digital technology design, development, evaluation, and deployment lifecycle enables us to deliver solutions for government and business that are not wedded to any one silo or perspective.
HTI is currently seeking a Skills and Capability Development Lead (Responsible AI) to join the team on a two-year contract.
As the Lead, you will draw on your deep experience in up-lifting organisations to effectively adopt, deploy and responsibly manage digital technologies. In particular, you will lead the co-design, development and testing of programs that will support businesses adopting AI and other new and emerging technologies. A key focus of your work will be on the design of Responsible AI skills development frameworks and educational pathways for small and medium enterprise, and the corresponding development of highly practical educational and support resources for these businesses.
As a critical part of the team delivering one of four National AI Adopt Centres funded by the Commonwealth Government, you will be at the centre of work that delivers and enables new AI risk assessment and assurance workflows for Australian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), uplifting the digital literacy of Australian organisations, and enabling thoughtful, ethical, and effective responses to the emergence of artificial intelligence and digital technologies writ large.
A competitive salary package, including 17% superannuation in addition to base salary, is on offer for the successful candidate.
This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
