About UTS Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion

The Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion (CSJI) is the coordinating vehicle for the implementation of the Social Impact Framework across the university, and for driving the university’s social justice agenda more broadly. It is also responsible for leading and evaluating a number of whole of university equity and diversity strategies, including the Athena Swan pilot, the University’s Widening Participation Strategy, and the UTS Access and Inclusion Plan.

About the role

CSJI is recruiting for a Social Impact Officer (Grants and Content Producer) to contribute to the enhancement of social impact at UTS. They will be responsible for sourcing and facilitating successful funding and grant applications for the provision of social impact projects and programs. Additionally, they will also work to collect accurate data and stories, create testimonials, case studies and other communications content for funding reports, grant acquittal and publications, and activities and events, to demonstrate the impact of our work and enhance our profile in alignment with strategic direction of the team. If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Grant facilitation
  • Strategic communication
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • General team engagement, administration, record keeping

With examples, please outline in a separate document how you meet the following six (6) key selection criteria points:

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with a proven ability to work autonomously to coordinate projects and prioritise workload to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high-level of attention to detail.
  • Significant experience identifying and securing grant applications and successful bids, and managing any administrative, compliance, monitoring, reporting and acquittal process etc. associated with the grants.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate partnerships with funders and build and maintain strategic relationships across the university, industry and community for joint funding proposals and submissions.
  • Significant experience developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating communication strategies to meet strategic objectives.
  • An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication and knowledge translation skills, including experience collecting data and telling stories and developing content to demonstrate social impact and enhance the public profile of the institution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders in a respectful, culturally appropriate and informed manner.

Base Salary Range: $98,480 to $108,943 pa (HEW 7).

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary. UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of Employee Benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
