The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. The VACCA team is committed to the organisation’s visions and values, passionately providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the community.
Our strength lies with our people.
The Case Manager, part of the Family Services team, supports Aboriginal families referred to VACCA. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the role collaborates closely with parents, carers, and key partners to provide integrated family support services. The Case Manager empowers families through culturally appropriate, trauma-informed practices, ensuring their active participation in decision-making and fostering self-determination.
This role requires a deep commitment to VACCA's values and a strong understanding of the cultural and historical factors affecting Aboriginal families, particularly in the context of Child Protection. The ability to work respectfully and competently with Aboriginal communities is essential, as is the use of evidence-informed practices like Cultural and Common Elements. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills are vital, along with the capacity to work both independently and in a team. The role also involves building trusting relationships, supporting families in setting and achieving goals, and collaborating effectively with partner organisations.
We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
