About the role

This unique position supports the facilitation of Cultural Elements training and provides ongoing coaching to embed this knowledge within partner agencies through group and one-on-one sessions. Collaborating closely with VACCA programs such as Cultural Therapeutic Ways (CTW), Research & Development (RED), and Learning & Development (L&D), the role coordinates and delivers Cultural Practice Elements to VACCA staff and partners. Key responsibilities include leading Cultural Elements training under the CTW framework, partnering with internal teams to achieve training outcomes, identifying training needs, and coordinating delivery schedules for internal implementation.

About You

This role involves implementing cultural practice through diverse activities, including building relationships with team leaders and practitioners in ACCOs and CSOs, delivering cultural practice training to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal staff, and providing mentoring to enhance cultural competency. Additional responsibilities include participating in governance meetings, supporting data collection to demonstrate cultural practice effectiveness, contributing to developing and refining cultural elements, and assisting with expanding cultural practices across programs, particularly within the Family Preservation and Reunification framework.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
