This role of the Intake worker is responsible for providing specialist cultural advice to Child Protection in respects of all reports regarding the alleged abuse of Aboriginal Children and Young People. The role will provide independent advice which informs the assessment and planning undertaken by Child Protection at the point of Intake which includes advice on the importance of strong connection to Aboriginal culture, community and family when making decisions in the best interest of the child.
The role will advocate for fair and just treatment for Aboriginal children and young people (and their families) and will liaise and develop strong internal relationships with regional ACSASS Team Leaders and caseworkers and work as part of wider statewide Intake & after-hours team, in addition to liaising and working with a number of external working relationships
