The Kinship Care Case Manager provides comprehensive case management and ongoing support for children and carers in statutory kinship placements. This includes home visits, identifying support needs, and enhancing cultural competence for non-Aboriginal carers. Key responsibilities include court reporting, utilising the Looking After Children Framework, conducting carer assessments, and ensuring stability for Aboriginal children. The role may also involve completing Part B Kinship Assessments under the First Supports Program.
The Kinship Care Case Manager provides ongoing support to children and carers in statutory kinship placements, with a focus on enhancing the cultural competence of non-Aboriginal carers. Key duties include regular home visits, identifying training and support needs, ensuring Cultural Support Plans for children, and facilitating family contact. The role involves case management tasks like completing reports, assessments, and documentation, while also supporting First Supports Program assessments for new placements. Additionally, the Case Manager participates in supervision, training, quality improvement, and may manage diverse caseloads as needed.
