The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. This role oversees VACCA’s culturally informed research portfolio and team, currently comprising three staff with capacity for up to six. The Manager will lead the development of VACCA’s research agenda, addressing critical gaps and service needs, while ensuring alignment with Indigenous research methodologies. Responsibilities include designing and delivering research projects, supporting reform initiatives, evaluating programs, and managing research partnerships. The Manager will also engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, universities, and VACCA’s internal Research Advisory Group.
The role guides VACCA’s culturally informed research agenda, aligning with strategic priorities and Aboriginal research approaches. It oversees the research team, projects, ethics reviews, literature reviews, and evaluations, embedding Cultural Therapeutic Ways. Responsibilities include managing budgets, reporting to leadership, developing partnerships, funding submissions, and supporting evidence-based practices. The Manager supervises up to six staff, builds team capacity, and represents VACCA in high-level meetings and stakeholder engagements.
