It is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

The Senior Project Officer plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering high-quality, culturally responsive projects and programs that support Aboriginal children, young people, and families. This position is integral to the Project Development Team, driving the end-to-end management of initiatives from strategic planning and implementation to monitoring and evaluation across both internally and externally funded projects.

About You

The Senior Project Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of impactful programs and initiatives for Aboriginal children, young people, and their families. Working across the organisation, you’ll lead and support project implementation from community consultations and innovative pilot programs to resource development and stakeholder partnerships.

This position involves collaborating with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, government departments, and sector partners to ensure culturally responsive and sustainable outcomes. You’ll provide expert project guidance, manage grants and tenders, oversee reporting, and develop strategies to strengthen program effectiveness.

With strong project management skills and a commitment to community-led solutions, you’ll contribute to meaningful change while working within a dynamic, purpose-driven team.

Requirements: 

  • Degree in Social Work or related discipline and/or relevant experience in the community services sector
  • This role may require travel throughout Victoria
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver's License.
