About the role

The Team Leader position is responsible for the management and effective delivery of specialist family services programs including Specialist Disability, Mental Health, and BUABAH across the Bayside Peninsula and Southern Metro Areas region.The role will work closely with the Southern VACCA, Senior Programs Manager in liaising with DFFH to maintain positive relationships and ensure intake, referrals, case management and reporting responsibilities and any other compliance requirements are met.

About You

• Relevant qualification in social work, youth work, psychology or a related discipline and at least three years’ experience in the child and family services system.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role, desirable.
• Relevant qualification in social work, youth work, psychology or a related discipline and at least three years’ experience in the child and family services system.
• Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of policies, legislation, current reforms relevant to family services operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practice of culturally safe case management practices or a willingness to learn, child development and risk assessment.
• In-depth understanding of pregnancy, birth and infancy and an ability to support families through these stages; and knowledge of the NDIS operational model and NDIS planning processes
• Experience in team management, development and leadership with proven ability to clearly communicate in a culturally appropriate and respectful manner to staff, clients and community members.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role, desirable.
• Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
