  • Salary: $106,389.92 - $111,092.80, plus super and salary packaging is available

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

As a Team Leader you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising program activities, ensuring they align with the core values of the community and VACCA's mission, while fostering an inclusive and culturally safe environment. The Team Leader will also work with community leaders, Elders, and key stakeholders to ensure that all aspects of the programs are culturally relevant and responsive to the evolving needs of the community.

By monitoring program performance, identifying areas for improvement, and adjusting strategies as necessary, the Team Leader will ensure that these programs continue to provide meaningful and impactful support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. Additionally, the Team Leader will be instrumental in guiding staff, providing mentorship and professional development to ensure high standards of service delivery, and creating a collaborative and respectful team culture.

About You

  • Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people.
  • Diploma or equivalent in Community Services or working towards qualification. 
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a Senior Case Managers role or Leadership role.
  • Highly developed administration skills including database management and the use of Microsoft Office Suite and data base program Csnet.
  • Extensive client outreach experience demonstrating sound risk management practices and case management delivery.
  • Experience within the education, early years or community sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in a client-focused role with the ability to deliver exceptional client facing services and meet the diverse needs of the community.
  • Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
