  • Salary: $106,389.92 - $111,092.80, plus super and salary packaging is available

About the role

The role of Lakidjeka ACSASS Team Leader will play a key role supporting the program staff in working with Aboriginal children and families, Government, and sector partners to reduce the over representation of Aboriginal children and to strive for better outcomes for children and families.

Develop and maintain strong partnership arrangements with Child Protection In addition, support will be provided to the Care Services management team and staff as required. The position is also part of the Lakidjeka ACSASS team and will provide support to that unit as required, including providing coverage during times of staff leave. Manage the day-to-day operations of locally/regional based ACSASS team including the direct supervision and support of staff

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Issues related to Aboriginal child and family welfare and Child Protection Systems
  • Undertake team management, including monitoring, evaluation and maintenance of standards.
  • Ability to work closely with child protection and other services to advocate for the child and support the best interests of Aboriginal children.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and train staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including consultation and liaising sensitively and effectively with a wide range of organisations including government departments (DFFH)
  • Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
