The Senior Project Officer works within the Screening and Early Detection team and will work closely with members of Maiam Nayri Wingara collective to develop, implement and optimise the ability for cancer screening partners including VACCHO, to introduce Indigenous Data Sovereignty (IDSov) and Indigenous Data Governance (IDGov).
The role will include working with key screening partners, Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer (ACPCC), Breast Screen Victoria (BSV) and Cancer Council Victoria (Cancer Council) to coordinate the training offered by Maiam Nayri Wingara collective members based at the University of Tasmania and Macquarie University, to deliver IDSov and IDGov training, support review of data policy and procedures and establish a co-governance cancer screening working group.
The role includes a well organised Secretariat role to coordinate training and meetings between project staff and screening partners, as well as an opportunity to shadow experts in IDSov and IDGov and become a champion in this space for Victoria.
To be successful in this role, you will need a demonstrated experience as a Senior Project Officer. A relevant qualification or 5 or more years of demonstrated experience working in health or a related field will be required.
