About you
You are passionate advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) with experience developing and implementing frameworks, policies and guidelines. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with leadership and teams to build an inclusive and accessible culture.
The role
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advisor is responsible for developing and implementing a diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, aligned with the Institute’s strategic plan to promote equity, inclusion, wellbeing and respect.
In particular, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advisor will:
- Assist with the roll out of the DEI strategy, including implementation initiatives
- Review the current policies, procedures and guidelines and ensure they align with legislative requirements
- Develop a plan to stretch beyond compliance with an aim to have a diversity, equity and inclusion framework fully integrated into every process
- Develop and implement a change management process, engaging leadership and workplace participants
- Support and advise the Diversity Committee to achieve its purpose
- Create regular reports to monitor and measure progress on diversity, equity and inclusion
- Coordinate the awareness and/or celebration of days of significance in the DEI calendar

Development of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Framework
- Development, coordination and implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion framework
- Establish partnerships and collaborative relationships within the Institute, the Precinct and with other organisation’s diversity, equity and inclusion subject matter experts
Change Management and Training
- Develop and implement a change management program
- Assist in the training of workplace participants
- Support the People & Culture Team to embed the framework into employee life cycle
- Provide support and training to the Diversity Committee to embed the framework into their programs of work, initiatives, and diversity calendar
People Analytics and Systems
- Assist with developing people analytics that measure diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives against the strategic plan, the Institute’s Values and engagement survey focus areas.
- Make recommendations and assist with the development of quarterly and annual reporting of the Institute’s demographics for the Board, funding bodies, and in line with legislative requirements.
Does this sound like you?
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Psychology or Business
- Experience in developing experience employee programs including employee value propositions (EVP) employer branding and employee engagement
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation relating to diversity initiatives
- Experience in the design, delivery, and evaluation of diversity programs
- Experience in creating and managing reporting
- Demonstrated experience managing projects
- Proven experience in change management
- Demonstrated excellent time management skills
- Strong business partnering skills
- Competent in the use of key desktop applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
