Working in partnership with VCOSS’s CEO and Executive leadership team, members, and other stakeholders, the Director of Communications and Engagement plays a pivotal role in shaping VCOSS’s public image, driving clear and strategic communications that are aligned to VCOSS’s values and priorities, and engaging our large membership base.
This pivotal role is responsible for leading and managing a small team to develop and deliver communication strategies, flagship events and campaigns, media management and public relations, and to continue to position VCOSS as an impactful peak body and effective voice for social and economic justice in Victoria.
The role is responsible for leading initiatives to enhance member engagement and strengthen the organisation’s value proposition, including managing digital transformation projects and impact reporting. Additionally, the role will develop and implement new communications and engagement strategies and contribute to other new strategic initiatives under a refreshed VCOSS Strategy.
VCOSS works collaboratively to leverage the insights of members and amplify the unique perspectives of people with experience of poverty and inequality. Working alongside the CEO, the Director of Communications and Engagement is responsible for ensuring that VCOSS is an impactful voice on a range of social and economic policy issues, backed by an active and engaged member/supporter base, and a strong visual identity, storytelling and reputation.
