About the role

Expression Australia is undergoing a significant era of change and growth and has an exciting opportunity available for a General Manager – Advancing Services.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who is driven to create continuous improvement environments and passionate about strengthening a service delivery portfolio, to benefit the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

The General Manager – Advancing Services is responsible for leading and providing strategic direction to the areas of; Language Services including Interpreting, Translation, Video Production, Audiology, Accommodation and Support Work functions.

This includes the development of services and new business opportunities, partnering with key stakeholders, to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Working closely with other business units, to analyse and understand the market and transfer that into business outcomes. This role reports directly into the CEO and is part of the Senior Management Team.

This position is full time, based in East Melbourne with flexible working arrangements available.

Skills and qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership and senior management experience, able to turn strategy into operational plans that motivate performance and outcomes of strategic priorities.
  • Extensive experience in the provision of person centred services (in the Deaf and or HOH space desired) and high-level knowledge of the policy, procedures and standards pertaining to the provision of disability services with the NDIS framework.
  • Depth experience in transforming service delivery supported by highly attuned business acumen.
  • Demonstrated high level stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to build internal and external relationships.
  • Highly developed strategic thinker and business partnering skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated, responsive, and flexible in an environment with time pressures and multiple priorities.
  • Ability to lead positively, with agility and adaption to changing environment.
  • Qualification in relevant business discipline or human services.
  • Auslan skills (or a desire to learn)
