About the role:

The Coordinator, Neighbourhood & Built Systems has a close working relationship with the Manager, Neighbourhood & Built Systems and is expected to develop and nurture excellent relationships across program units and key external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

Contribute to initiatives that contribute to actions and outcomes in the Neighbourhood & Built Systems by supporting and assisting with initiative that will:

  • enable increased physical activity, improve social connectedness, and address systemic discrimination and racism in the environments where Victorians live, connect, play, travel, create, and work
  • explore the design, access and use of infrastructure, buildings, space, and transport within communities to address discrimination and improve social, emotional, physical, and mental health.

About you:

We’re looking for someone who is able to provide effective liaison; have a strong ability to see and understand broader strategic vision; maintain relationships with stakeholders; and represent VicHealth in a professional manner at stakeholder events.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant qualification at Advanced Diploma level and/or strong demonstrable experience working as a project officer
  • Experience working within the public health, community or government sectors
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new approaches and apply them in practice
  • Understanding and experience, or exposure within healthy urban design and planning, including how built environments support or hinder better overall health (desirable)
