Victorian Student Representative Council (VicSRC) is the peak body and leading advocate representing school-aged students in Victoria. We were created by students to be a voice for all primary and secondary school students at the highest levels of decision making in Victorian education. Our vision is an education system that is student-led, student driven and student-focused.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a student-led organisation that’s making a real difference through advocating for lasting, systemic change in the Victorian education system. VicSRC works closely with students, educators, and government stakeholders to improve the education system for all students by advocating for the adoption of student voice practice in schools and across government, as well as undertaking consultative research and delivering programs to students and educators.
VicSRC is looking to appoint a new Programs Officer. The Programs Officer will lead the delivery of all VicSRC programs, ensuring they are meaningful, engaging, and draw from the most recent evidence to ensure impactful change across the Victorian school community to better support student voice, agency and participation. The Programs Officer will also oversee our Partner Schools offering, including the coordination and delivery of a Community of Practice for teachers and educators invested in student voice.
This role will foster strong relationships with schools, local government, and other key stakeholders to ensure VicSRC maintains a strong and positive presence in the development and delivery of programs which strengthen student voice practice in schools.
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in co-design, student voice and/or lived experience work, with in-depth knowledge of the principles of youth participation, as well as other strength-based approaches to working with children and young people.
You are a highly organised, detail-oriented individual with facilitation and administration experience and the ability to balance competing priorities. You thrive working in a small, energetic team and are ready to work on behalf of all Victorian students to make the education system better, fairer, and stronger for everyone.
