Project Manager - Volunteer Management Activity - Flexible Location

POSITION

The purpose of this role is to provide project management support for all national VMA activities. This is a senior position which requires a proactive approach.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the delivery of all VMA national projects.
  • Coordinate, prepare and disseminate proposals, papers, minutes and reports for VMAC, National Coordination Group and project subgroup workshops and meetings.
  • Chair National Coordination Group meetings.
  • Undertake effective procurement processes relating to national projects including internal and external procurement briefs, contract management and other related documentation.
  • Embed project management practices and principles across all activities.
  • Tracking and reporting of expenditure across national projects.
  • Maintenance and updating of all relevant documentation.
  • Lead the coordination and completion of National VMA reports in line with funding requirements.
  • Other duties to support VMA National Work as requested by VMAC.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

  • A qualification in project management or administration

Competencies

  • A commitment to quality
  • Experience delivering high level reports
  • Project Management expertise, with strong administration, organisational, chairing and time management skills
  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • High level negotiation skills including the ability to be proactive, effectively articulate a business case and communicate tasks and projects
  • Highly efficient at IT platforms, especially Microsoft Teams

Additional

  • Not-for-profit experience
  • Previous experience working with boards or similar (contract management or government procurement experience will be highly regarded)
  • Willingness to travel interstate and be flexible as work requires occasional out of hours commitment.
  • The successful candidate may be required to undergo a Police Check and Working with Children Check.

CONDITIONS

The position will be part time until June 2026 (and paid at 0.5 FTE of Social and Community Service Employee Level 6.1). The role will report to the CEO of the volunteering peak body in the State/Territory where the successful candidate is located.
