The National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA), based at Ayers Rock Resort, is searching for a Residential Program Manager to live and work onsite at Yulara, NT which is 20 min drive from Uluru, one of Australia's most iconic and culturally significant landmarks.

About NITA

The NITA Residential Program Manager at Ayers Rock Resort supports up to 80 trainees in dormitory-style accommodation whilst they complete their training. Our residential program seeks to ensure that every trainee in the Academy feels a sense of connection, safety and pride, but most importantly feels at home during their residence and trainee journey.

Our NITA Residential Program Manager is the key operational leader of our program. This role has oversight of our operational strategy and manages and develops our team our Wellbeing Support Workers, who are attentive to wellbeing needs of trainees and role model pride and responsibility in the upkeep of residential facilities and amenities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced leader dedicated to developing our framework and contribute to the Academy’s national impact.

About the role

The NITA Residential Program Manager provides operational leadership to the NITA Residential Team and Program based at Ayers Rock Resort. The role supports social, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of Indigenous trainees working and living at Ayers Rock Resort, with the goal of developing skills to thrive in life, maintaining employment and completing their traineeship.

The key duties of the role include:

  • Program leadership: Design and deliver the NITA Residential Program to create environments, opportunities and structures that support young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to successfully complete their traineeship and achieve strategic outcomes of NITA.
  • Team development: Strategically and actively develop performance and capacity within a team of people with clearly defined roles and work plans to enhance social, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of trainees.
  • Stakeholder relationships: Establish, maintain and grow effective working relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally to effectively deliver strategic outcomes that meet the aims and objectives of the NITA program.

About you

You are an experienced professional in the community services sector. You understand the unique and diverse strengths and challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, with a willingness and capacity to listen and learn.

Tertiary qualifications in social work, social welfare or related discipline are required for this role. Due to working with young adults and working with vulnerable people check will need to be obtained before starting with us.
