We are searching for a Wellbeing Manager to live and work onsite at Yulara, NT which is 20 min drive from Uluru, one of Australia's most iconic and culturally significant landmarks.

About the team

The Ayers Rock Resort Wellbeing Team facilitates culturally safe evidence-based initiatives to enhance the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of all staff members working at Ayers Rock Resort. The team has a strong focus on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, including trainees in the on-site residential National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA). The team develops and delivers outcomes through professional counselling services, dynamic activities program, staff training opportunities and the residential support program for NITA trainees.

About the role

The Wellbeing Manager provides strategic and clinical leadership to the Wellbeing Team and programs based at Ayers Rock Resort. The team consists of two Counsellors, two Activities Coordinators and Youth Worker.

The purpose of the role is to enhance the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of all staff members working at Ayers Rock Resort through a suite of coordinated initiatives. This includes operational leadership and coordination of the counselling service, activities program and staff training, including key stakeholder management that relates to the operation of these programs.

This role is the primary point of operational leadership for all staff wellbeing initiatives, including critical incident response, at Ayers Rock Resort.

The key duties of the role include:

  • Team leadership: Strategically and actively develop performance and capacity within a team of people with clearly defined roles and work plans to enhance the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of all staff members and community in Yulara.
  • Clinical leadership: Provide clear, evidence-informed clinical leadership that is culturally responsive to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, with consideration of the needs of Aṉangu staff, and the wider community.
  • Program management: Support then operational design and delivery of programs that enhance the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of all staff members working at Ayers Rock Resort, including operational budget management, compliance and reporting to funding bodies.
  • Stakeholder relationships: Establish, maintain and grow effective working relationships with key stakeholders that relate to wellbeing program operations to effectively deliver outcomes that meet the aims and objectives of the Wellbeing program.

About you

You are an experienced practitioner and team leader in the community services sector. You understand the unique and diverse strengths and challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, with a willingness and capacity to listen and learn. You have relevant tertiary qualifications in social work or related field with experience in management of wellbeing programs and a proven capacity to work collaboratively within a cross cultural and complex environment. You think strategically and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
