Are you looking for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? The National Indigenous Training Academy, based at Ayers Rock Resort is searching for a Youth Worker to live and work onsite at Yulara, NT which is 20 min drive from Uluru, one of Australia's most iconic and culturally significant landmarks.
The National Indigenous Training Academy is a leading specialist Indigenous Training provider passionate about supporting Indigenous young people to fulfil their career dreams. Based at Ayers Rock Resort and Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, our residential model supports trainees to earn a wage while they learn about their chosen industry and live onsite in a supportive community. Over 650 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have graduated from the Academy with certified qualifications in hospitality.
The Voyages’ Wellbeing Team facilitates culturally safe evidence-based initiatives to enhance the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of all staff members working at Ayers Rock Resort.
The team has a strong focus on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, including trainees in the on-site residential National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA). The team develops and delivers outcomes through professional counselling services, dynamic activities program, staff training opportunities and the residential support program for NITA trainees.
The Youth Worker supports the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of Indigenous trainees working and living at Ayers Rock Resort, with the goal of developing skills to thrive in life, maintaining employment and completing their traineeship.
The key duties of the role include:
You are passionate about working with young people. You understand the unique and diverse strengths and challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, with a willingness and capacity to listen and learn. Relevant experience and/or qualifications in youth work is beneficial in this role.
