Victorian Trades Hall Council (VTHC) is the peak body for unions in Victoria. We are seeking to employ a full-time fixed term Project Content Producer/Digital Marketer for our Workplaces for Women project to advance gender equality in gender segregated industries.

The Workplace for Women Project runs for 12 months from the start of April 2025.

The Workplaces for Women Project promotes gender equality in gender segregated industries to create workplaces where women are safe, respected, equal and included. The Project will conduct outreach and development of women workers and workplace leaders, develop strategic networks, conduct and publish research, develop resources and cutting-edge materials, develop and deliver relevant training to suit a range of audiences.

The Project works with VTHC’s affiliate unions, relevant industry stakeholders, employers, the ACTU and other state-based Trades and Labour Councils.

We are seeking someone who is positive, energetic and passionate about gender equality who can manage a Project digital communications strategy end to end.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Fast paced content production in a creative team
  • Distilling complex ideas about social and economic justice (including industrial campaigns) into engaging content
  • Supporting Project staff to build lists, generate leads, and target advertising effectively
  • Developing and executing social strategy to build the profile of the project, and deliver strong results
  • Use your knowledge and experience of social media communities to help develop strategies for growth and engagement

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated commitment to gender equality and trade union values

  • Eager to learn and develop new skills and knowledge

  • Proficiency in producing and co-ordinating high-performing organic and paid digital content

  • Sound editorial judgment such as in content creation and moderation

  • Track record in engaging, growing and mobilising communities online

  • Ability to plan and execute creative and brand strategy in accordance with campaign goals

  • Skills in providing timely and effective testing, analysis, reporting and response to data trends of organic and paid content

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to contribute to a positive team culture of experimentation, innovation, evaluation and transparency/accountability

BONUS CRITERIA

  • Experience working at a trade union, not for profit or progressive organisations

  • Qualifications in marketing or related field

  • Filmmaking and/or digital journalism experience

  • Strong personal social media

This is position is a fixed term, full time position set at Level 4 or 5 of our classification structure (approx. $79,000 - $87,000), dependent on experience.

The Workplace for Women Project runs for 12 months from the start of April 2025. Victorian Trades Hall has an Enterprise Agreement with a monthly RDO (in recognition of occasional additional hours) and 12% superannuation.

This position is based at Victorian Trades Hall in Carlton.

This position reports to the Assistant Secretary and Secretary through the Team leadership. Some irregular hours, and regional travel may be required in this role.
