Positive Speakers Wanted – Share Your Story & Inspire Change.

WAAC in collaboration with POWA and Positive Living Victoria are launching a Positive Speakers Bureau in Western Australia, and we are looking for passionate individuals living with HIV (PLHIV) who are willing to share their experiences to help educate and inspire others.

As a Positive Speaker, you will have the opportunity to challenge stigma, raise awareness, and foster empathy by sharing your lived experiences with diverse audiences. Your voice can help break down misconceptions, humanise the experience of living with HIV, and drive meaningful conversations in the community.

Speakers will be compensated for their time once they begin speaking engagements after the completion of trainings.

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Are living with HIV (PLHIV)
  • Have experience in public speaking and are comfortable presenting to various groups
  • Can share their story with professionalism, respect, and safe storytelling principles
  • Are knowledgeable about issues affecting PLHIV and can provide informative and compassionate insights

Why join the Positive Speakers Bureau?

  • Use your voice to create real change in how HIV is understood in the community
  • Help reduce stigma and promote inclusivity
  • Receive support and training to develop your skills as a speaker

If you’re interested or want to learn more, we’d love to hear from you!
