Quality and Operations Manager

Women's and Girls' Emergency Centre

ABOUT US

Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) is a feminist, grassroots organisation that supports women and families in crisis and advocates for social change in the community. We work on the lands of the Gadigal, Wangal and Dharug people of the Eora Nation.

Every night, we support 200 women and children impacted by homelessness, domestic violence, and systemic disadvantage. Equally, we seek to address the underlying causes of gender-based violence through primary prevention activities with communities and private and public entities that want to be a part of the global movement to end gender-based violence in a generation.

THE ROLE

The Quality and Impact department drives continuous quality improvement and effective business operations across WAGEC. The Quality and Operations Manager leads a coordinated approach to delivering and improving our everyday systems, processes and facilities management.

This role ensures quality and impact are at the heart of how WAGEC manages our seven sites, including our four Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) refuges. The Quality and Operations Manager is responsible for continuous improvement and accreditation functions, policy and procedure development and application, and on-going CARE model implementation within our Client Services and Programs teams.

We're seeking a strong project manager with operations/facilities experience who can also deliver outstanding customer service at our Redfern head office. You'll thrive on collaborating across our many sites to ensure WAGEC delivers high-quality, safe, secure and impactful services for women and children.

The core responsibilities of this role are:

  • Manage and develop a high performing team to run the daily operations at our Redfern head office, repairs, maintenance and systems improvements across WAGEC sites
  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of quality, policy, and accreditation initiatives
  • Work collaboratively to improve WHS practices, reporting and compliance
  • Oversee and monitor partnerships and formal agreements for contractual compliance, in consultation with relevant managers.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and proactively contribute to WAGEC’s overall culture and impact.

ABOUT YOU

  • You’re an experienced manager with at least 3 years’ experience leading multi-disciplinary teams or projects
  • You'll have solid experience working directly with people in human services or customer service capacity, and are compassionate to the needs and situations of women and families experiencing DV and/or homelessness
  • You'll be a tech wiz, love improving digital systems and have demonstrated experience in managing business and finance operations.
  • You’re a great communicator, able to keep diverse and spread-out teams up to date, proactively resolve issues and build excellent working relations with key stakeholders.
  • You are skilled in risk management, workplace health and safety procedures and requirements.
  • You are confident in making decisions and leading actions on daily operations, accreditation and compliance matters, and best practice models of service.
