Women and Mentoring (WAM) is a community-based early intervention program supporting cisgender and transgender women and non-binary people in contact with the legal system. We match participants with trained volunteer mentors who provide trauma-informed, strengths-based support, helping them build positive pathways and connections within their community.
With increased funding, WAM is expanding into regional Victoria using our proven remote mentoring model, which ensures participants in rural and regional areas receive tailored support, regardless of geographic barriers.
As Regional Program Coordinator, you will lead the expansion of WAM’s mentoring program into new and selected regional areas across Victoria. Your role will involve developing relationships with local stakeholders and referral agencies, conducting participant intake and assessment, and supporting mentoring relationships through our remote model. You will also play a critical role in setting up and maintaining digital systems to enable effective remote mentoring delivery.
While this role requires significant autonomy, you will collaborate with a passionate team to ensure the program’s success and alignment with WAM’s values and strategic goals.
We are seeking someone with practical experience working with women and non-binary individuals facing complex challenges, particularly those in early contact with the criminal legal system. You will have the ability to establish and maintain referral pathways, complete participant intake and assessment, and coordinate mentoring relationships remotely.
