Warringu is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation governed by a community Board of Directors. The Board sets and oversees the Organisations strategic direction. Warringu provides a specific range of services to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children impacted by family violence and homelessness both in Cairns and from surrounding areas including Yarrabah, the Atherton Tablelands, Cape York communities and the Torres Strait. We do not preclude women of any ethnicity or location from accessing our Service when in need.
As part of our front-line team, the Sexual Violence Therapeutic Practitioner will offer clinical therapeutic support and advocacy for individuals accessing Warringu services who have experienced sexual violence. This role aims to address the emotional, psychological, and physical health needs of survivors, empowering them in their recovery journey. The practitioner will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to ensure that clients receive holistic, trauma-informed care that promotes healing, resilience, and sexual health.
