We are a NDIS Provider that currently supports over 330 people living with disabilities across our 2 sites, Notting Hill, and Hallam. We have employment opportunities in packaging, assembly, warehouse, gardening, catering, and a large & devoted client base who share our vision and purpose.

Purpose of the Participant Engagement Officer

The Participant Engagement Officer is a new role for Waverley and ultimately would be responsible for coordinating and driving Waverley’s offer to NDIS participants seeking or interested in supported employment opportunities. The role takes ownership over many parts of participant involvement with, from induction to supporting the transition of participants across Waverley’s various areas of business, in line with the notion of providing the best possible training and development offerings to participants.

In this dynamic and rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to engage with

  • NDIS participants,
  • Carers & families,
  • Schools and other organisations promoting Waverley’s unique services.

Key aspects of this role include.

  • Being proactive with seeking opportunities to expand our network to organisations we can offer our services to. This would be a process ultimately led by you.
  • Having ownership of the recruitment process, while working in partnership with Marketing, Training and Development Officers, and HR. This partnership will also lead to enhancing our Participant Value Proposition.
  • Work experience is an important activity within Waverley, you will have the autonomy to Co-ordinate work experience with existing schools, and actively seeking new opportunities for engagement with other schools.
  • Engagement across schools, expo’s, community organisations. Proactively seeking opportunities to engage and establish networks, while also working collaboratively.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Certificate IV in Disability, or other relevant qualifications (Community Services, Social work, allied health etc) & Experience in a similar role, e.g., recruitment community and disability services
  • Experience working with, or knowledge of not-for-profit sector and supported employment. Includes understanding the Supported Wage System and its interaction with the Supported Employment Services Award.
  • Ability to display knowledge and understanding of the NDIS particularly Code of Conduct, ethics, and Principles.
  • Experience working with all people including those living with disabilities & work professionally, respectfully, and ethically, with ability to build rapport and maintain strong relationships.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, delivering in timely manner, and solutions focussed approach.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in an inclusive written and verbal communication style.
