wayss is the largest provider of homelessness, housing and family violence services in the South East Melbourne area. We exist so people can live a life free from family violence and have access to safe, sustainable and affordable housing. Our vision is to be the major provider of social housing services and leading edge client support programs in the Southern Melbourne Metropolitan region.
We deliver funded services and programs across the South East of Melbourne including the local government areas of Greater Dandenong, Frankston, Casey and Cardinia.
About the role
The Quality Risk and Compliance (QRC) team are responsible for maintaining the organisation's Accreditation, Legislative and Regulatory requirements, Risk Management, Compliance Management and Reporting, Data Analytics and Development, Continuous Quality Improvement, Complaints Management, Policy Framework Development and Management and Quality Assurance along with leading the organisation's OHS, Emergencies Management, Privacy and Information Sharing functions.
Reporting to the Head of Quality, Risk and Compliance and working across the whole organisation, the Quality, Compliance and Accreditation Business Partner is responsible for managing the organisation’s Quality Framework and Accreditation maintenance programs, with a focus on continuous improvement, along with developing and implementing new Quality and Compliance programs as required.
Pivotal to this role is a foundational understanding and knowledge of the transition from the Human Services Standards (HSS) to the Social Services Regulations (SSR), including the incorporation of the Child Safe Standards (CSS), along with experience in working within the three service standards.
The role is responsible for the maintenance of the organisation’s compliance with accreditation programs and requirements along with working in an integrated and collaborative manner with Client and Shared Services.
Duties include:
- Lead the organisation’s Accreditation Compliance Program including DFFH, VHR, Homes Victoria, Child Safe Standards and Social Services Regulations accreditations.
- Assist in the continued development of Compliance Management and Quality Improvement programs, systems and frameworks as required.
- Lead and manage wayss Feedback and Complaints management function.
- Act in the capacity of the organisation’s Privacy Officer when required.
- Lead the organisation’s Policy Framework and document management programs.
- Deliver the organisation’s Quality Improvement work plan.
- Lead process and continuous improvements for regulatory compliance.
- Help drive a client and service focused culture.
- Provide specialist advice, coaching, support and guidance on quality and accreditation and related compliance activities.
- Develop and maintain positive and strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- In collaboration with Client and Shared Services teams, facilitate, support, educate and coach all relevant stakeholders with projects aimed at developing, implementing, coordinating and improving Quality Improvement, Accreditation and Compliance Management frameworks for all wayss services.
- Other reasonable duties as required.
About you
You will have:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Quality Management and Improvement, Quality Assurance, Compliance Management or relevant discipline at degree level or above.
- Demonstrated experience in compliance with the Human Services Standards, The Social Services Regulations along with the Child Safe Standards.
- A thorough understanding of accreditation and regulatory compliance and compliance management methodologies, processes and frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience as a Privacy Officer and a thorough understanding of the Australian Privacy Principles, the Information Privacy Principles and the Privacy and Data Protection Act.
- Experience in delivering quality assurance and management, accreditation and compliance programs, within a whole of organisation context.
- Relevant experience working in the community services sector in a similar role.
- Collaborative and pragmatic, with a strong client centred service focus and a positive ‘can do’ attitude is essential.
- A thorough understanding of quality, assurance and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Experience in project management in a community services setting, including planning, development and delivery of projects, and development of training activities and materials.
- Demonstrated experience in positively partnering with key stakeholders.
- An ability and willingness to be flexible and nimble in a changing and fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a team and to work exercising independence, adaptability, judgement and initiative.
- Excellent written communication skills, including direct experience writing and managing policies, procedures and reports.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage projects to tight timelines.
- Experience with complaints management would be desirable.
This role requires a current Driver’s Licence and valid Working With Children Check clearance. The candidate will need to have successfully completed wayss’ pre-employment screening and a police check.
