ABOUT US

The Haven – Nepean Women’s Shelter provides a safe place for women and families experiencing domestic violence and homelessness. We support women and children to rebuild their lives. Our services include crisis accommodation, rapid rehousing and outreach support. We are one of eleven shelters that operate under the banner of Women’s Community Shelters.

  • Part-time 18 hours per week, Tuesday – Thursday during business hours

We are looking for a talented Administration Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Business Manager, you will be responsible for a range of administrative functions. You will be responding to enquiries, coordinating volunteers and donations, data management, and assistance with social media and fundraising events.

  • Award Classification: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) Social and Community Services Employee Level 2, Pay Point 2.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish, develop and maintain good working relationships with partnership organisations, our community and our donors to facilitate efficient and effective support services for clients.
  • Coordinate volunteers and donations.
  • Manage office email and social media messages, responding to enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collection and distribution of mail.
  • Record, collate and maintain shelter statistics as required.
  • Coordinate and maintain Shelter and Office Calendar.
  • Coordinate and maintain meeting schedule, meeting minutes and venue bookings for service meeting or client group work.
  • Supporting the Business Manager with the CRM platform to manage donor records, communication and reporting.
  • Maintain and reconcile gift registry spreadsheet.
  • Maintain monthly community awareness calendar.
  • Support social media creation.
  • Assist with community engagement and fundraising activities when required.
  • Flexibility to attend fundraising events when required.
  • Ensure confidentiality of information at all times.
  • General administrative duties as required by Business Manager.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • 2+ years administration experience.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications and database experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Commitment to working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience with Canva preferred but not essential.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
  • Working with Children and Police Check.
  • The right to live and work in Australia.
