We are recruiting a Case Worker on a permanent part time basis for our team at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women's Shelter to work with homeless women escaping domestic and family violence.
Weekday and afternoon shifts are available, plus on-call allowance where applicable.
This role is classified as a Crisis Accommodation Level 2 position within the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS Award). The minimum base rate on offer is in line with Crisis Accommodation Level 2.1 pay rates.
The shelter is staffed 5 days a week 8am-8pm (reporting to a Shelter Manager working office hours) therefore flexibility for mornings, evenings and on-call shifts is essential.
Women’s Community Shelters are dedicated to supporting and empowering women to take control and move on with their lives. Our clients are supported with client-centric and trauma informed case management and are supported to secure more permanent accommodation and pursue other goals, such as, studying, re-training, legal, employment, financial, family and recreational.
An understanding of the homelessness sector, awareness around current issues and practice in domestic violence and good knowledge of housing pathways are key skills for this role.
Qualifications in social work, psychology and/or mental health, and a minimum 2 years experience in related fields, is desirable. Experience working with CIMS case management system is also desirable.
