Women's Community Shelters

ABOUT WOMEN’S COMMUNITY SHELTERS

We are a registered Community Housing Provider looking for an Asset Manager to develop our organisational systems and processes to support the management of our growing housing portfolio.

Women’s Community Shelters (WCS) has changed the conversation on women’s homelessness and domestic and family violence in NSW. Since opening our doors in 2012, we have walked beside and supported over 7,600 women and children to live brighter lives, free from violence. In 2023 WCS became a registered Community Housing Provider, and has a growing asset base.

Our work includes education and prevention; early intervention; crisis and transitional accommodation; social and affordable housing; outreach support and recovery; and advocacy. We support women of all ages, at all stages of their journey. We bring together community, government, business and philanthropy to achieve housing outcomes that no party could achieve individually. We are proud to have established and operate a network of eleven crisis shelters and three large-scale transitional homes (specifically for women aged 55+). We have an innovative healthy relationships program for high school students, which reaches 4,000 students each year. In 2024 our work evolved to include social and affordable housing. In 2025, we will commence crisis shelter operations in Victoria for the first time.

We are looking for a talented ‘Manager – Asset Strategy and Operations’ to support this critical work and help create more safe and supported homes for women and children experiencing homelessness and domestic and family violence.

“On that first day, I didn’t think I could be any more grateful to you for taking me in, accepting me and saving my life. Your great big hearts have put me back on the right track again.

Forever grateful”   Former WCS crisis shelter resident
