About the role:
We Care Support Services is seeking passionate Disability Support Workers to deliver person-centred support to a 21-year-old man living in Redland Bay. Our participant lives with a primary diagnosis of Angelman’s Syndrome.
Duties & responsibilities include:
- Meal preparation
- Execution of the participant’s care plan
- Support with domestic activities and assistance with personal care
- Work to provide appropriate support to improve the client’s level of independence
- Assist with community participation, skill & relationship building, and various other needs
- Medication assistance
- Accurate completion of incident reports, progress notes and shift handovers where required
- Observe and document progress and changes through detailed note keeping
Qualifications & attributes:
- Understanding of the NDIS & commitment to its principles
- Proficient, clear, and effective written & verbal English communication skills
- Key Word Signing and Proloquo2go experience is highly advantageous
- NDIS worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid & CPR certifications
- Working with Children Check/Blue card, or willingness to obtain
- Current Australian driver’s license
- Availability for early morning starts, working 2-3 shifts per week.
