Walter & Eliza Hall Charitable Foundation

Overview of WALTER AND ELIZA HALL GROUP OF CHARITIES

Eliza Hall established the Walter and Eliza Hall Trust in 1912, in memory of her late husband. Both had been active philanthropists during their life together.

Over the past 123 years, the Trust has remained steadfast in its mission to improve welfare in Australia and helping those who are disadvantaged and facing adversity, as well as contributing to more permanent change, by collaborating with community groups, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Today, we have a corpus of approximately $23M, enabling us to grant approximately $1.6M annually. Working with our trusted partners, our direct giving programs provide assistance to those in immediate need; and our strategic multi-year funding partnerships aim to address the social issues at the source of that financial hardship.

More information about us can be found at wehalltrust.org.au.
