Overwhelmingly, our existing political, business and societal leadership has failed to adequately address the climate and environmental crises at hand. It&rsquo;s time for a leadership change. <h3>About the position</h3>
In this exciting new role, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering a range of online and in-person events and managing communications that engage and inspire the WELA community. As a key member of a small and supportive team, you&rsquo;ll take initiative in managing project timelines, coordinating logistics, and developing content to help drive WELA&rsquo;s mission forward.
You will work closely with our team to ensure events run smoothly, from ideation to execution, while also creating and promoting engaging content across WELA&rsquo;s social media, website, email campaigns, and newsletters. Your ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders will be crucial as you help to amplify WELA&rsquo;s message.
You&rsquo;ll work directly with the Engagement and Community Manager, Communications Manager, and Fundraising Stewardship Manager. The WELA team embodies a vibrant and caring energy where we know what we&rsquo;re doing, but we certainly don&rsquo;t have all the answers. Learning, reflecting, and balancing risks informs our passion and drive.
<h3>About you</h3>
You&rsquo;re passionate about our environment, and the important role of women&rsquo;s leadership in creating a genuinely sustainable future in which people and the planet thrive.
You are an organised, proactive, and self-motivated individual with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. With experience in coordinating projects, you&rsquo;re able to organise resources, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
Working independently comes naturally to you, and you thrive when taking initiative and managing projects with minimal supervision. You&rsquo;re a self-starter who communicates clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, ensuring that team members are well-informed and tasks stay on track to meet goals.
Collaboration is one of your strengths, and you enjoy building positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders alike. You&rsquo;re personable and have a natural ability to connect with others, building rapport easily and fostering positive relationships with colleagues and partners.
<h3>Key accountabilities and tasks</h3>
As a small team, we support each other in our work so you&rsquo;ll regularly be expected to jump in and help out wherever needed. Likewise, you can count on the support of the team however you need it.
<h3>Events</h3>
<ul>
<li>End-to-end online and in-person event coordination:
<ul>
<li>Ideation and design: Work together with the Engagement, Communications, and Fundraising team to conceptualise and design events for the WELA community.</li>
<li>Promotion: Execute communication plans to promote events, creating promotional materials as necessary. Work with stakeholders to gather relevant information.</li>
<li>Planning, coordination, and logistics: Organise multiple, sometimes overlapping events, troubleshoot and solve challenges, liaise with clients and vendors, and respond to any other tasks that may arise during event coordination.</li>
<li>Post-event communication and reporting: Write and send post-event follow-ups or surveys, and maintain detailed event records.</li>
<li>Administration: Maintain detailed and clean records in WELA&rsquo;s CRM system.</li>

<h3>Communications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Develop, write, design, and edit high-quality content:
<ul>
<li>Content planning: Plan and schedule engaging social media content to enhance brand awareness, drive audience engagement, promote activities and programs, and grow WELA's online presence.</li>
<li>Content creation: Create content for various platforms including WELA&rsquo;s website, social media, email campaigns, and newsletters, collaborating with team members for input</li>
<li>Brief development: Assist the Communications Manager with developing briefs for external consultants, including communications and design experts.</li>
<li>Engagement reporting: Track, analyse, and report on engagement across communications platforms and use insights to guide future content strategies.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<h3>Other</h3>
<ul>
<li>Fundraising: Support WELA&rsquo;s fundraising goals through events and communications activities for our growing donor base.</li>
<li>Brand alignment: Ensure consistent and effective use of branding and messaging across all communications and events maintaining a cohesive and professional brand voice.</li>
<li>Strategic alignment: Work closely with the team to align communication and engagement strategies with broader organisational goals.</li>
<li>Professional development: Seek opportunities for learning and skill enhancement to contribute effectively to WELA&rsquo;s mission.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Key Selection Criteria</h3>
Essential:
<ol>
<li>Demonstrated commitment to our environment and/or women&rsquo;s leadership</li>
<li>Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, events management, public relations, and/or minimum 2+ years experience in a similar role.</li>
<li>Experience successfully coordinating events and/or projects, multitasking, and managing competing priorities with strong attention to detail.</li>
<li>Proven ability to write, create, and deliver high-quality, engaging content across platforms, tailored to diverse audiences and channels. Examples welcome.</li>
<li>High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with a team and build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.</li>
</ol>
Desirable:
<ol>
<li>Graphic design skills using Canva or other tools,</li>
<li>Experience working in a small, remote team environment, preferably in the not for profit sector.</li>
<li>Familiarity with relevant tools and software such as Google Suite, WordPress, Action Network or other CRMs, and social media platforms.</li>
