About the Opportunity

Wellways Australia is excited to be hosting the Earn and Learn program, a strategic initiative from the Victorian Government aimed at creating pathways to employment in the mental health sector.

As our trainee, you will gain on-the-job training and exposure to working in community mental health for 12 months, receiving full-time wages and benefits, inclusive of two study days per week.

Throughout this period of time, you will be supported through your studies in a structured work environment, within a supportive and collaborative learning community as part of a wider team connected by a purpose-driven culture.

This is an opportunity for anyone who is passionate and studying or wishing to complete studies in the area of mental health to join the team within one of our Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) services and apply their learnings in a real-time, practical environment.

Pre-employment compliance requirements

  • Enrolled in the Certificate IV or Diploma in Mental Health (completion of the first 3-6 months of the course is preferred).
  • 100 of ID including evidence of working rights within Australia (birth certificate/passport/visa).
  • National Police Check (within the previous 12 months).
  • Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate - free online course.
  • Where required - Evidence of COVID booster vaccination or valid medical exemption.
