About:

The Manager - Vulnerable Populations leads a team with a focus on improving access to quality primary health care services for the community. The team has a diverse focus responsible for the implementation of programs and services targeted to support vulnerable population groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence; emergency and disaster management and people experiencing chronic conditions. This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the successful design, commissioning and contract management of programs with primary health care providers including general practice, allied health, community focused organisations and consumers to address identified population health needs in the region.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent targeted experience in health, management, project management or similar.
  • Significant experience in building and establishing new partnerships and opportunities through strategic communication strategies to achieve common outcomes.
  • Proven experience in managing the risks and outcomes of multiple projects on multiple levels across an organisation
  • Proven success in leading teams and coaching individuals to deliver program and organisational outcomes.
  • Ability to prepare quality business communication documents, including business and project plans, reports, briefing papers, general correspondence; with attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
  • A commitment to the values of the organisation and a strong work ethic with a positive attitude and enthusiastic approach to new situations, reform and innovation.

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations.
