After many years of successful growth, WentWest now has an opportunity for a talented person to join our organisation in the role of Health Policy Advisor. This position is pivotal to WentWest’s role as a change agent and enabler for system reform. The role provides policy support to our key senior stakeholders across a diverse suite of programs and the whole organisation - strategically linking those programs of work with current Board, Regional, and Government priorities.

In this busy and high profile role you will:

  • Provide advice and policy support to the CEO, Senior Management Team, and other key stakeholders
  • Deliver comprehensive strategic policy direction and guidance to support programs of work across the organisation
  • Work across a range of program and policy projects, in particular projects related to Regional Health Needs, co-design Commissioning, Service Delivery Reform, Child and Youth, Mental Health, and Aboriginal Health
  • Collaborate and consult with a range of stakeholders including primary health service providers, community managed organisations, public health services other government agencies
  • Write papers and respond to consultation requests
  • Analyse policy issues to provide advice and develop new policy

About You

Tertiary qualified, we are looking for an amazing candidate, who has a range of experience and knowledge of government strategy and policy across the health sector including national and international trends and developments in health service planning and delivery. In addition, you have experience in writing whitepapers, proposals, ministerial briefs and discussion papers. You will bring established relationships and networks with key stakeholders in the health, social care, and academic sector in NSW, and nationally, and possess excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

How to Apply

To be the successful candidate you must meet the position requirements as well as provide a current National Police Check. Current NSW Drivers Licence and access to transport as regular travel is required as part of the role within the Western Sydney area is required.

In accordance with the Public Health Orders for primary care and private sector health service providers, you will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Full working rights to work in Australia are required for this role.
